Abstract
Zusammenfassung: Bevor alles, was das Interesse des Botanikers und des Naturfreundes an der flämischen Küste erregt, völlig zerstört ist, hat der Verfasser es für notwendig gehalten ein Inventar der Flora und der Pflanzengesellschaften aufzustellen. Die Geschichte der Küste ist festgelegt. Die klimatischen, bodenkundlichen, ökologischen und hydrologischen Verhältnisse sind angegeben. Die Bodenbedeckung durch die Vegetation wurde beschrieben. Die Gesellschaftsdynamik der Bodenvegetation und des Phytoplanktons des Meeres, sowie ihre jahreszeitlichen Wechselbeziehungen, wurden studiert. Der Verfasser wünscht, daß integrale Reserven gebildet werden.
Summary: Before everything which is of interest to botanists and friends of nature is entirely destroyed along the Flemish coastline, the author thinks it necessary to draw up a complete list of the flora and the plant associations. The history of the coastline is also included, as well as the climatic, pedologic, ecologic and hydrologic conditions. The soil coverage by vegetation is described. The syndynamics of the soil vegetation and the phytoplancton of the sea, as well as their seasonal variations are dealt with. The author expresses his wish that integral nature reservations might be created.
